EVENT UPDATES
(Pictured above: my table set up at the last Turlock Farmers Market of the season!)
This last weekend, I vended at the last Turlock Farmers Market of the 2025 season. It was a little bittersweet, as I know I likely won't see my neighboring vendors much anymore afterwards. I have no other in-person events lined up, and now that I am working a full-time job during the week again, I likely will not participate as a vendor in many (if any) markets next year. I have so enjoyed my time as a full-time artist! Though I will not have regularly occurring events to vend at any more, I will definitely still be creating and sharing online and through collaborations with local and independent retailers.
IN-STORE SHOPPING
I have recently restocked on softies and keychains at Bookish in Modesto, CA! They have an online storefront through which you can browse all of their wares from secondhand books to locally made crafts and trinkets. You can also search for what Dumbyworld items are still in stock! In addition to some the items available on the Dumbyworld shop site, Bookish stocks a few items I would regularly only have available at in-person events and markets, such as reprints of poetry zines I've created and a few older keychain softies I no longer carry. Please do give them a visit if you have time :)
I am also very excited to announce that beginning January of 2026, I will be a certified vendor with Sweet Life Boutique in Stockton, CA! They are a fantastic and charming consignment boutique on Stockton's famed Miracle Mile that stocks a curated array of trinkets, clothes, books, and more from local vendors and makers. I am honored to be part of their team of vendors in the coming year :) The other week I visited them to check out the vendor space they'll be letting me rent. It's a sweet window spot with plenty of room to display Dumbyworld goods. I'm so excited to have a physical spot in their store to decorate as my own! Stay tuned for photos and updates on this endeavor :) !! I'll have our Stockists page updated soon when I'm all set up!
There are a few other local shops I'm hoping to form a connection with. Since I won't be able to connect with my community through regular markets, I really want to do all I can to support local businesses and share the good word of Dumbyworld through physical spaces! Please look forward to it :)
LIFE UPDATES
There's only like a week left of 2025!! That is so wild... I remember when I was small, every single year felt like such a monumental event come December. Space and time felt different back then and I am a little melancholy realizing that I'm not as floored by the expanse of time that has passed between now and the beginning of 2025.
Did you start 2025 with any new year's resolutions? Every year I have the goal of eating slower, hahaha. I think I'm starting to succeed in this endeavor, but I bet in 2026 I can eat EVEN SLOWER! Another goal I had at the start of the year was to cherish every single day individually. I had just quit a full-time job in academia that I had held for nearly a decade and was embarking on a journey into being an artist. It was scary and riddled with uncertainties, but I also knew that I was only able to start on that path because I have been extremely fortunate and worked very hard. So I wanted to treat every day as precious and appreciate it fully.
I failed to do so explicitly every day BUT what I have managed to do is capture a piece of each day on video :) For the past few years, I've been taking videos every day and compiling them all into a single video at the start of the new year. I don't often share my YouTube channel anymore because it is filled with personal records that I call my Home Movies hehe but I'd like to share a compiled list of videos from this year with you all! I so appreciate you being here all this time, for coming with me on the wild roller coaster ride that has been my year as an artist, as a human, as a little dust mote in our gorgeous and unwieldly universe.
If you care to see, here is a playlist of videos I've made over the course of this year. Rather than compiling each day's video into one large video at the end of the year, I made a video for each month of 2025. This has turned out to be one of the hardest years of my life and all the same one of the most beautiful and fulfilling. December's video will likely be added in January.
Come the new year, I hope to experience even more love. I wish to feel fully, to explore unabashedly, to be as alive as I can possibly be. I hope you get everything you wish for as well. Take care and I'll see you in 2026 :)
With love,
Ciara
