Bye bye, Summer...
August went by in a dazzling flash and now, mid-September, things are already feeling so Autumnal even in biseasonal Central California. We've already had some cloudy days, I'm wearing a jacket while typing this, and the tops of the trees are beginning to blush. As much as I love Summer, I'm pretty excited for the cooler weather to come back. Somehow it feels like it's happening too quickly, but that does not have to be a bad thing.

RESTOCKS AND NEW ITEMS
I will be restocking softies and stickers at Bookish in Modesto, CA this next week. I'll be stocking Cherry Tomato keychains and including some in-person exclusive items like Bookworms! And CLOWNS!!!

The clowns will be listed online in due time... They're my favorite thing to make right now, so do not worry, they WILL be here hehehe. If you've been meaning to stop in at Bookish and see what's available, do plan to come by soon!! You can check what Bookish has in store from Dumbyworld using their Online Catalog.
I'm currently in communication with Paper Moon in Turlock, CA as well to get our stickers restocked! It has been such a pleasure working with them :)
Speaking of stickers! I've listed a brand new sticker design hehe...

I'm hoping to create more stickers similar to this one :) They're based on a set of magnets I made a while back. I'm having a lot of fun with it and will include other plant milk variants and other silly questions that for whatever reason make me especially nervous to ask.
Check out our New! collection to see everything freshly added to the store!
UPCOMING EVENTS
This Saturday, September 13th, I'll be vending with Central Kpop in Modesto, CA for their K-Pop Demon Hunters watch party!! Like everyone else, I've become absolutely consumed by this movie and am so excited to participate in one of Central Kpop's events.
You can also find me at Ohana Comic Con in Elk Grove, CA at the end of the month! This will be my first time tabling for an event in that area of California, and I am very excited :) If you're in the area, do come say hi!
Find out more on our Events Calendar.
AMERICAN FOUNDATION FOR SUICIDE PREVENTION FUNDRAISER:
I'm proud to share that on October 4th, 2025, I'll be participating in the Modesto, CA chapter Out of the Darkness Community Walk. We'll be fundraising with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) to support mental health education and advocacy, suicide prevention research, and loss survivor support.
I've created a fundraising team for the event!! You are all welcome to join by using my team link, regardless of location or monetary donation. Though monetary support is greatly appreciated, it is not at all necessary!! Any form of support you can extend means the whole world, and that includes simply reaching out to your loved ones and showing them that you care.
I've included some physical rewards for those who donate to our cause through my team link included above. If you're available and in the Central Valley on the day of the walk, I'd love to see you there :)
Again, no monetary pledge is required. Just give love to those you care for, including yourself.
LIFE UPDATES
It's happening!! I'm changing jobs :') Aaaaaa... this does not at all mean the end of Dumbyworld!!! Dumbyworld is forever!!!
I am anticipating starting a new job this month. It's going to be a full time position, so I will not be able to keep up with running my art business the same way I've been doing this past year. I will still be at the Turlock Farmers Market every other weekend, still stocking softies and stickers at local businesses, still making art and spreading happiness in the ways I know how. However, I won't be participating in as many conventions or pop-up markets and events, if any. I have a few events through the end of this year that I had scheduled before landing this new job, so those will happen as planned, but in the coming New Year (CRAZY to be thinking about New Years right now) I likely will not be having any in-person events.
As for the online store, I fully intend to keep stickers fully stocked always, but may pivot to releasing soft toys and other handmade items in batches, as I may have mentioned in last month's newsletter. I am the sole employee of my small business and handmaking so much of my inventory is extremely taxing, even with the incredibly flexible schedule I operate on currently. Once I am fully immersed in my new job, I won't be able to keep up any more with handmade items. I'm hoping, one day in the future, I can work more with local and international manufacturers (crossing my fingers for those tariffs to simply implode and exit this timeline...) to create original stationery, prints, and other goods.
Life has been so strange and busy lately. I did a lot of travel at the end of August, I've had a lot of lifestyle changes on account of a (relatively) new relationship (all positive things!), and just when I thought I would finally be able to settle down and reassess things, this new job comes in. I'm really excited about it all and I feel extremely lucky, extremely privileged to be able to pursue so many goals all at once, all with a feeling of safety beneath the overwhelming unknown of the future. I can't thank my loved ones enough for that.
As always, thank YOU (specifically YOU!!!) for being here, for reading all of this, for existing in this funny world alongside me. I hope your days are full of love. I hope your dreams are bright and I hope you're reaching for them with everything you have. Take care, keep healthy, don't forget to take breaks.
With love,
Ciara
